Doing business since 1994, David Thomas Photography is based in the Inland Empire of Southern California. David's experience includes over 50 weddings, hundreds of portraits, and countless events. His continual training in various aspects of photography takes place at the Tri-Community School of Photography in Covina. David has also taken photography classes at Chaffey Community College. David also does digital imaging on a full time basis, transferring photographs to canvas.

With his documentary style, David's wedding images often look like those of Dennis Reggie, but can be obtained for far less than the $10,000 price tag of the celebrity wedding photographer.

Specializing in landscape and nature photography, his Family portraits on location come naturally.

With a bachelor's Degree in Psychology, David's understanding of group dynamics and individual behavior allow him to capture the critical moment on film. This is especially important when photographing children.

A Brief History

In 1992, while living in Massachusetts and teaching religion, I began learning photography. My simple point and shoot was no longer satisfactory for just documenting my life events. I felt too limited, being unable to shoot through glass, or at night. Not wanting to take too much time to learn how to use an SLR (single lens reflex) camera, I consulted with a professional photographer in the area and got a few tips. SLR's are surprisingly easy to use once you understand the ratio between the aperture and the shutter speed. I invested in a Pentax P30t and a telephoto zoom lens, began taking pictures, and everything else just came naturally.

My current collection has grown to includes the above equipment, an autofocus body (Pentax PZ1p), lenses from 18mm (super-wide) to 300mm (telephoto), and many accessories. All of these tools enable me to capture each image in the best possible way.
